Project Overview
Architectural Emporium recently submitted a planning application for 126 new build homes in Eccles, Salford for CERT and For Housing. The scheme comprises an angled perimeter block with a courtyard garden. It is comprised of a ground floor of residents welcome and co-work area, cycle storage and workshop areas comprising the communal facilities.

“Working with Architectural Emporium across a number of our projects, including Stretford Mall and Albert Street, has been a consistently excellent experience. Their team combines strong creative vision with a pragmatic and collaborative approach, which has been invaluable in moving these complex projects forward.”
Chris Hosty, Head of Design and Regeneration, CERT
A mix of one and two bedroom apartments with direct access from the street via semi private terrace areas forms the remaining ground floor provision, with a mix of one and two bedroom apartments on the upper floors. Relief is added to the facade through considered brick detailing and an expressed grid.

A simple palette of materials is used with a blend of red brick tones and oxide red metalwork across the majority of the elevation. The site forms a gateway into Eccles from primary routes and verticality is provided to the corner with a change in brick tone and elevated detailing to the crown. Here a darker red brick frame references adjacent buildings and expressed soldier coarse framing animates the facade. Imagery by Architectural Emporium.
